Northern Type – Craft Ale Specialists Pull into Eccles

February 19, 2017 Daniel Kelly Leave a Comment

Northern Type Craft Beers

If there’s one thing the town centre of Eccles isn’t lacking is local pub and traditional boozers. However no matter how cheap the beer is, for those who appreciate a good Pale Ale or Bitter, Eccles range of drinks usually starts and ends with a pint of Fosters or Carlsberg. Northern Type, a new Craft Beer Take out & Drink In Bottle Specialist, is aiming to change all that.

Featuring beers and ciders from the best independent brewers from the local region and beyond, Northern type is sure to stock something to whet the appetite of any craft beer enthusiast – whatever your favourite is they are sure to have it have. For those who are unsure what to have, owner Dave is on hand to give his expert advice to find the right tipple no matter what the occasion. The selection of beers, already excellent, is expanding by the week. It’s the kind of place you could visit regularly and never drink the same thing twice.

I opted for Jack May, a Vegan IPA from the Neptune Brewery. Great tasting bitterness and at 6% it had quite a kick. Priced at £2.90 I highly recommend it.

We also tried Wiper and True, another great Vegan IPA with hints of citrus.

Northern Type is still in its infancy with plans to start serving cask ales by the pint to enjoy either at home or in the shop. The place is looking like a little gem in the heart of Eccles. If the gets the success it deserves, I really do hope it brings a welcome change to the makeup of Eccles Town centre. We don’t need anymore Betting shops that’s for sure.
