Common Ground – New Speciality Coffee Shop and Kitchen opens in Altrincham

June 7, 2017 Daniel Kelly Leave a Comment

Common Ground Coffee Shop

A new coffee shop in Altrincham ran by three Olympic athletes, has just opened on Shaws’ Road, Altrincham.

The three Olympians, Liam Phillips, Jessica Varnish and Fran Halsall have traded in their running shoes for a piece of the ever-growing Altrincham bar and restaurant scene.

Expect Artisan coffees, delicious pastries and green teas. There’s also a plan to start serving food soon.

They also have some of the best branding I’ve ever seen from a Manchester Independent – it really does make a difference.

Common Ground - Coffee to Go

Inside, Common Ground includes plenty of seating areas around with a sun trap at the back. Perfect for sunny days in Alty whilst enjoying a flat white or skinny latte.

The coffee served your standard Latte, Espresso and Long Black varieties, along with more unusual styles including cortado. I’m happy to report the Long Black I opted for (I am a creature of habit) tasted excellent. Prices start from just £2.

Inside Common Ground

Common Ground can be found on Shaw’s Road, opposite Altrincham Market House and next door to the excellent Sugo. Be sure to check them out.
