Open since 2015, 6/Cut in Monton has been serving the ‘proper sour dough pizza’ to the people of Monton & Eccles. We popped down a few weeks ago to find out if they make good on their promise.
Food at 6/Cut Monton
For starters, we ordered the Fully Loaded nachos. This generous portion comes covered hot sauce, sour cream, melted cheese, gauc and salad. Great for a sharing starter for 2/3 people, it’s one of the best-loaded nachos I’ve had for a while. Would have again.
I’ve also had the Summer Med board on a previous visit – just ask for the ham to not be served. This falafel, hummus and buffalo mozzarella is a great option to share over drinks.
For our main, we decided to share a Pizza. In fact, one of the sharing starter plus a pizza should be enough for 2. We went with the Garlic Roasted Mushrooms Pizza – this 6/Cut take on the classic mascarpone pizza. It came included turn mozzarella, mascarpone and a generate helping of rocket. At £9.50, it was a bargain!
As the team at 6/Cut cook everything fresh to order it’s easy enough to make your own too!
If I had one critique of the venue it would be that the menu is not fully labelled with any of the items marked as either Veggie or Vegan-friendly. Thankfully the staff were on-hand to help with our choices. Hopefully, it’s something they can fix for 2018.
Observations
- As well as being very reasonably priced, 6/cut does regular offers and discounts. For example, The last time we visited they had 25% on all pizzas. Check out their Twitter page for the latest offerings.
- 6/Cut has recently started to serve brunch at weekends. I will update this review once we get chance to check it out.
- If you after anything but Pizza, this isn’ the place for you (especially if you’re following a vegetarian diet).
Overall, it’s another great addition to the booming Monton Food and Drink scene. If you like artisan pizza it’s the best place to go. Go check it out!
We’ll be reviewing a few more places in Monton over the next few weeks too!
