Wow! What a year 2017 has been for Manchester Foodies. With more new restaurants opening that anyone can keep up with, along with many old favourites upping their game, its been a great year for everyone who enjoys eating out.
To celebrate, I’ve had a look at the traffic stats for 2017 to find the most popular articles on the site this year. As chosen by you! Our Top 10 is below:
10. Bundobust Manchester Review
Bundobust: fresh, vibrant Indian food and craft beer heaven. A big favourite of mine this year and easily one of the best veggie places in MCR. If you haven’t already make sure you check it out.

Oké Poké, Manchester’s first dedicated Poké bar, opened it’s doors this year, giving Mancunians a true taste of Hawaii. This is one for the sushi lovers.

8. Refinery Spinningfields Bottomless Brunch Review
It seems everywhere in Manchester and beyond is now offering their own take on Bottomless Brunch. However, the Refinery in Spinningfields is still one of the best. Top service and excellent vegetarian food options make this hard to beat.

7. Fress Restaurant Oldham Street Review
Winner of the ‘Battle of the Brunch’ 2017, Fress Restaurant offers a touch of Victoria Elegance in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Great veggie options and an impressive cocktail menu make this more than worth the trip.

5. The Pasta Project
Proving that Fast Food can be great tasting too, the Pasta Project is an Eat and Two Veg Favourite. Easily one of the best pasta places in MCR, along with Sugo Altrincham and the Pasta Factory.

4. The opening of Mackie Mayor
If you enjoy Eating out in MCR it will have been hard to avoid the opening of Mackie Mayor. Situated in the old Swan Street market, the venue has been fully restored to its former glory. Inside you will find a full range of up-market food and drinks stalls. A great spot for a drink or bite to eat, if a little pricey.
3. V Rev Review
Prooving that Vegan doesn’t have to mean healthy all the time, V Rev serves up gourmet junk food that competes with the best Manchester has to offer.
2. The Northern Type Eccles
One for fans of craft beer, the Northern Type Eccles is going from strength to strength with beer fans travelling from around the North West to sample the best of the regions ales and beer.

1. Common Ground Altrincham
Coming in at number 1 is Common Ground, an independent coffee shop in Altrincham started by three Olympics. Whilst I’m surprised to see this at number 1, this little coffee shop has been in the top 5 articles read on the site since the summer. Maybe we should write about coffee shops more often 🙂
