Vintage Ambiance Monton Review – The Perfect Brunch Spot

January 12, 2018 Daniel Kelly 3 Comments

Since moving to Monton in 2016, Vintage Ambiance has been one of my recommended places for breakfast in Monton. Refurbished last year, Vintage Ambiance is one of the top places in Monton no matter what time of the day you go.

By day, Vintage Ambiance is a casual neighbourhood tearoom and offering brunch and afternoon tea. By night, the place converts into an evening restaurant and upmarket cocktail bar without missing a beat.

In fact, we like Vintage Ambiance so much that we have added it to our Best Breakfast and Brunch Places in Manchester list.

Brunch at Vintage Ambiance

Vintage Ambiance has an extensive brunch menu including full breakfasts, pancakes, eggs options and lighter bites.

If you are travelling for Brunch at the weekend, I’d recommend that you either get there early or ring ahead to reserve a table. The place opens at 10 am and is usually turning people away by half past.

I usually go for the ‘Delightful Vegetarian Breakfast’ which includes eggs your way, veggie sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, homemade hash and beans.

I particularly love the veggie ‘black pudding’, with the spices used adding a touch of almost lavender to the dish. I would like to know what is they use.

As the name implies it really is a delight!

Each breakfast includes either tea or black coffee. We went with the tea for two, which came in rather fetching owl shaped pot. Who could resist?

All in, a full breakfast with a pot comes in at a frankly ridiculous £7 – surely one of the breakfast bargains of Manchester.

My only criticism is that the shot of beans, and yes they do come in a shot glass, isn’t quite enough. But I am being very picky.

Evenings at Vintage Ambiance

The refurb from last year has meant that the place is now more than just a tea room, meaning that the best brunch place in Monton is now also one of the best places for an evening drink.

The cocktails we’ve tried so far have been great – far better than what is offered at Bodega – with original takes on classic cocktails the order of the day.

Drive-in Movie Cocktail at Vintage Ambiance

My cocktail of choice is currently the ‘Drive-in Movie’, the Vintage’s Ambiance version of the Old-Fashioned, with a side of popcorn that contrasts pleasantly with the bitters from the Bourbon

If you are after trying them for yourself make sure you visit between 7pm-9pm Monday to Sunday where you can get 2 cocktails for just £10.

Vintage Ambiance Monton

Whether you are looking for a bite to eat or after work drinks, Vintage Ambiance is the ideal spot in Monton. Along with the Blind Pig a few doors down and Playfoots Bar down the road, it’s easily in my top 3 places in Monton Eccles.

Make sure to check it out and let us know what you think!
