The Bay Horse Tavern Bottomless Brunch

May 1, 2018 Daniel Kelly Leave a Comment

Bay Horse Tavern

If you’re anything like me you’ll agree that brunch is the ideal weekend treat. It gives you the perfect excuse to eat breakfast food into the early afternoon and enjoy a few drinks with friends.

Manchester has fully embraced the bottomless brunch trend, with more restaurants and bars offering brunch deals washed down with a prosecco or Bellini’s.

Throwing its hat into the Bottomless Brunch ring is the Bay Horse Tavern.

Refurbished late 2017, The Bay Horse Tavern offers a range of local cask ales, cocktails and a revamped food menu that includes a range of small plates, bar snacks and pub classics. The refurb has managed to keep the feel of your northern quarter boozer – there’s not that many left now – whilst updating the decor where it was needed. It works well.

Bottomless Brunch

The Rules

Bottomless brunch is actually available any time between 11am-2pm on both Saturdays and Sundays. Priced at £27.50 per person, the deal includes one brunch dish along with a choice of free-flowing prosecco, bloody marys, Irish coffee, mimosas, house wine, selected bottled beers, hot drinks and soft drinks. You can have bottomless drinks for a total of 2 hours – the only rule they have is that you have to have finished your previous drink before ordering another round. Very easy to follow.

The Drinks

Prosecco Time

The best thing about bottomless brunching at the Bay Horse is the selection of drinks. I like a Bellini as much as anyone but 2 hours of the same drink can be too much sometimes, no matter how much you like it. The Bay Horse by allowing you to switch to a different drink per round! Had enough of prosecco? Grab a wine! Fancy something different? Order a Bloody Mary! No more drinking the same thing over and over! If you are planning a big weekend on Manchester or recovering from the night before the Bay Horse Tavern is an ideal choice.

They also have a great selection of coffees, teas and soft drinks for those who are not drinking. Perfect for the designated driver of the group.

The Food

Along with your bottomless drinks, you’ll get to choose a brunch dish (the food is not bottomless). I opted for the Avocado & Poached Egg on Toast that featured some of the best poached eggs I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended!

If I could make one suggestion it would be the addition of a proper Vegan option. You can ask for Avocado on Toast but it’s always nice to be able to order an item straight from the menu rather than having to ask for changes.
