Monton Best Places

Our top picks for dining out and nights out in Monton. Whether you’re after a few drinks, afternoon tea or a great dining spot we’ve got you covered…

It’s always been seen as a smart suburb of Salford, but now Monton is establishing itself as a place to visit in its own right. We’ve put together a list of our favourite places for you to check out.

Note: We’ll be keeping this list fully updated as we discover new places in the area. If you’d like to suggest one please contact us or send us a tweet with your suggestions.

Playfoots Cafe & Bar – 175 Monton Road, Monton

After converting from a cafe/bistro to a bar, Playfoots has become a staple of the Monton high street. Great atmosphere, warm service and top drinks menu make this my go-to bar in the area. If you’re visiting make sure to check out the Bee Memorial to the side.

Expect lights breakfasts and deli sandwiches for lunch. It’s also one of the best places to go for coffee too with Eat and Two Veg Favourite Salford Roasters Company supplying the coffee.

Malt Dog – 169 Monton Rd, Eccles

For real ale lovers, Malt Dog is the place to visit. Just a few doors down from Playfoots, Malt Dog offers the best selection of Beers and Lagers on-tap. You’re bound to find your next favourite ale here.

They also offer a carryout service too! Convenient for those who want to take their favourite tipple home with them.

Davardi’s Monton – 73 Monton Rd, Eccles

The Park – 142 Monton Rd, Eccles

If you prefer your old style pubs over trendy wine bars, The Park is the place to go. As well as some of the cheapest pints in Monton village, it’s one of the best places to go when the sun in out.

Zouz American Burger Bar

A recent addition to Monton High Street, Zous has been a big hit with locals since opening late last year. Warm service and excellent craft beer on tap. Only downside is the lack of many veggie options – hopefully that will get fixed soon enough.
