Iberica Review Spinningfields Manchester – A Taste of the New

December 5, 2018 Daniel Kelly Leave a Comment

Earlier this year we checked out the new menu at Iberica, a Spinningfields favourite since opening in 2015. After a string of food awards, the team have updated the menu for the new year with fresh takes on Spanish classics. Heres what we thought!

Yummy Food

Located in the heart of Spinningfields, Iberica aims to combine traditional Spanish cuisine with a touch of modern sensibilities. Whether you’re looking for your next favourite Manchester restaurant or somewhere to grab a few drinks after work, Iberica has you covered.

We took a seat upstairs, enjoyed a glass of red and checked the new tantalising menu.

Whereas the old menu focused on larger Spanish mains, the new menu is fully focused on offering an authentic Tapas experience. The focus on smaller plates, perfect for sharing in groups is a great choice. Each dish really delivered on flavour, presentation and showcased some of the best seasonal ingredients available right now.

Personal favourites included classics such as potato bravas, served with brava sauce & alioli and the warm lentil salad. Recommended to us by the staff (I probably wouldn’t’ have gone for it otherwise), it included a soft-cooked egg, pea shoots& roasted baby carrot. Delicious!

Also, service throughout was friendly, helpful and polite. They were able to suggest the best options to go for and even adapted a dish to make it veggie.

The one big disappointment that I had with the new Iberica menu was that a few of my veggie favourites have sadly been axed. This includes the Baby Carrot Tempura served up with homemade tartare sauce and the veggie paella, a staple of any Spanish restaurant. I hope they reconsider and get these back on the menu as soon as possible.

If you’re looking for Top Spanish Tapas, a glass of hearty red wine or something a little stronger Iberica is a strong contender. With A few more veggie options on the menu, it could be one of the best places in town. Until then, I still think it’s worth checking out!
