Happy #NationalVegetarianWeek
We posted a list of top vegetarian and vegan places in Manchester a few days back and wanted to share great places for you try. Whatever you’re after foodwise there’s something for everyone in Manchester…
Try the whole menu at Bundobust
Indian street food may have been a little overdone over the last couple of years but few places do it as well as Bundobust. If you’ve yet to try it out, there’s never been a better time.
Bundobust has become my most visited restaurant in Manchester. An excellent, ever-changing menu with something new to try every time, along with a great veggie beer selection and wallet-friendly prices make this an absolute winner. I’ve yet to take anyone here who hasn’t enjoyed it.
Picking favourites is hard, but I’d recommend that on a first visit order the set bundle for 2 along with some okra fries. You can’t go wrong.
Just don’t call it ‘Indian tapas’.

Try a Vegan Burger at VRev Diner
Proving that vegan food doesn’t always have to be healthy, V-Rev Diner has been a hit with vegans and non-vegans alike. Expect dirty burgers, hot dogs and loaded fries galore! They also have a great cocktail and craft beer menu too.
Expect queues though as this place can get busy!

Try Brunching At Fress Restaurant
Voted ‘Best Brunch in Manchester’, Fress is another restaurant on my go-to list that I recommend to everyone. During the day, the place is perfect for brunching with the smashed avocado on sourdough (for just £5.50!) a particular favourite of mine. In the evening, the menu changes to include a selection of small and bigger plates. They do like putting edible flowers with everything though!
Excellent cocktail menu to boot too!

Try the New Vegan menu at Bill’s
Until this year, I wouldn’t have included a place like Bill’s in this list. But a big menu change at the start of the year has expanded the options, making it one of THE chain restaurants for vegan and vegetarian food.
Particular highlights include the Moving Mountains burger (the closest thing I’ve tasted to the Impossible Burger in the UK) and the Vegan Wellington.

Try the Bottomless Brunch at the Refinery
There’s a lot of Bottomless places in Manchester, but for my money, the Refinery in Spinningfields is the best of the lot. A two hour session time, top food options and superb service (this is not the sort of place where you struggle to get another drink) make this my favourite. I even went for my birthday last year.
You do need to book in advance!
P.S. If anyone gets this far I really must go back soon and redo these photos….
