I Knead Pizza Stockport Review

I Knead Pizza Stockport

Looking for a new Pizza place that caters for both veggies and vegans? We think we’ve found the perfect place in Stockport…..

There’s a lot of Neopotilian Pizza places in Greater Manchester, from Rudys and Ply in town to 00 Pizza in Chorlton. For new places, it can be hard to stand out from the competition. But if you’re looking for one that offers great vegan options as well you tend to be out of luck. Out to change all this, I Knead Pizza is the latest addition to Stockport’s Food scene. Can it hit the spot?

How did I Knead Pizza start?

I Knead Pizza started originally as a mobile catering venture in 2015. Specializing in Neopolitan style pizza, they’ve honed there skills at street food events, Artisan markets and festivals across the North West. There’s a good chance you’ve already seen them at a local event near you!

Taking everything they’ve learned from the street food business, I Knead Pizza has set up base in Stockport. After finding out the place, I couldn’t wait to try it out. I even took my mum along with me for a second opinion.

From the outside, the rather assuming restaurant is easy to miss as you drive by. But step inside and inside and you’ll find a trendy pizza joint. Smart, yet relaxed.

If you’re looking for authentic pizza, I Knead pizza has got you covered. All the dough is made with 00 flour, sea salt, water and fresh yeast. The dough is proved overnight before it’s hand-stretched, topped with your ingredients of choice and cooked in the over. After all that prep that last part only two minutes before it’s ready.

How was the Pizza?

What really impressed me about the menu was the variety of Vegan pizzas available. Simply put, I can’t think of a place that caters better for vegans anywhere in Manchester (take that Rudys!). They start from the simple Marinara all the way to a ‘Veat Feast’ – a plant-based meat-free alternative pizza. They even have a Seitan Vegan pizza on the menu. A first for me. With nine to choose from, you’re sure to find a new favorite!

All the vegan pizzas

We decide to order two pizzas (one vegan and veggie) to see how they stacked up.

For the vegan choice, we ordered the Roast Veg Pizza, topped with vegan cheese, roast peppers, broccoli, and grilled aubergine. Finished with chili and garlic, this pizza did not disappoint.

Vegan Pizza

For the veggie option, we ordered the ‘The Special’. Now, if you’re going to call a pizza ‘The Special’ has to be good. I’m happy to say that it’s was more than good and truly lived to the name!

Consisting of Tomato, fior di latte ( a soft cheese), caramelised onions, goats cheese and green olives.

Easily one of THE best pizzas I’ve had in a long while. I will be back to try this again.

Veggie Special Pizza

Service throughout our visit was excellent and catered to our every need.

Price-wise, pizzas start from £7 with no pizza coming in at more than £12. With drinks you can expect to be paying around £30-£35 per two, making it the perfect midweek treat.

Overall, I Knead Pizza is more than worth the visit. Add it to your list of places to visit!

We will be back to try more!
