Get Chucked Review

Jim Jong Yum Burger

Looking for your next Vegan Burger hit? We think we’ve found just the place. We went to Get Chucked in Urmston. Here’s what we found…..

Dirty Burgers Bars and Gourmet JunkFood joints aren’t always the best places for veggies and vegans.  Luckily for us, since moving from a pop-up venue to a permanent residence earlier in the year,  Get Chucked has really upped its game with a full Vegan menu & plenty of vegetarian options to boot. After a long bank holiday weekend, we decided to check it out to see what all the fuss what about.

Just a mile away from the Trafford Centre, Get Chucked is situated on the main street off Urmston – just a minutes walk from the Train station.

The Bar Area

As well as serving burgers, Get Chucked also has a range of Tacos, Hotdogs and Nachos.

What were the burgers like at Get Chucked?

After a bit of consideration, I ordered the ‘Jim Jong Yum’ a Deep Fried Korean BBQ Tofu served up with Lettuce, Mayo and House Slaw.

Tasty from first to the last bite, this extra saucy burger hit the spot. I could even eat it without having to revert to taking it apart with a knife and fork, a real plus for me.

Another Vegan Sauce

For sides I got the Cauli Nuggets, fried cauliflower topped with one of four sauces (Buffalo, Korean, BBQ and Chipotle and Lime). I went with Buffalo sauce ….

Cauli Nuggets with Sauce

Rather predictably, the Buffalo sauce blew my head off – wow it was strong! Next time I think I’d go with BBQ. It was a shame too as the Cauli nuggets tasted great. Certainly, some of the best ‘cauliflower wings’ I’ve had.

Lizzie ordered the Jacked Up vegan burger. This is a Moving Mountains burger topped with Jackfruit Chilli, Chipotle Ketchup, Mustard and deep-fried Jalapeno.

It wasn’t long before I had to steal a bite!

Jacked Up Vegan Burger

Starting with the Moving Mountains Burger, the best meat-alternative patty you can get in the UK, the Jacked Up Burger is topped with Jackfruit – easily the biggest vegan ingredient at the moment. This big burger was huge on flavour and well worth trying.

If you’re looking for a meat-free alternative burger this is the one to order!

The only negative thing I’d say is that all the sauce on top made for a messy eat. This is not a burger to order on a first date 🙂

Burger Time

For a side, Lizzie choose the Veggie Mac n Cheese.

With sides and a drink, you can expect to pay £15-20 per person – not the cheapest but we both thought it was worth it.

The beer currently on tap (didn’t catch the name sadly), was excellent too and was perfect for the big tasting burgers.

Lovely Beer

Anything you would change?

If I could change one thing about Get Chucked I would have more napkins available on the table. These burgers can get messy! Or maybe I’m just a messy eater 🙂

Is Get Chucked Worth the Visit?

Overall, if you’re a burger fan Get Chucked is well worth the visit. You won’t be disappointed!

Be sure to check them out soon and let us know what you think.
