Looking for your next takeaway fix? Foodie Food Manchester have got you covered. We tried them out earlier this week to get our takeaway foodie fix
For pizza and burger lovers in Manchester, you really are spoilt for choice. Whether its deep-pan, a thin crust, or a stacked vegan burger there’s something to please everyone. This makes standing out from the crowd harder than ever.
Stepping up to the challenge, Foodie Food has just launched, delivering some of the best takeaway pizza and burgers we’ve had in a long while. Launched by Aaron Dronsfield and Stephen Bradley, Foodie Food is aiming to bring together contemporary takes on Neapolitan pizza and burgers for delivery and collection. With a big focus on Vegan options and catering for those with food allergies, it operates from a kitchen in Central Manchester, and delivering all over the city.
How was the burger?
Once our order arrived we couldn’t wait to try it. First out the box was the Vegan burger. The vegan burger is made with Beyond Meat smash patties alongside vegan cheese and a vegan version of Foodie Burger Sauce.
There’s no getting around it, the burger looks and tastes very meaty ( or at least what I imagine a beefy burger to taste like). A bean burger this is not. I was fine with it, but I can imagine it looking too close to the real thing for a few people. It would be ideal for a Meat Free Monday.
The Beyond Meat patties should please both vegans and those wanting to reduce their meat intake. They are juicy, satisfying and don’t fall apart like the veggie burgers of old. They are very similar in taste to the Moving Mountains burgers and not a million miles away from the Impossible Burger.
The vegan burger sauce was simply moreish. If they sold it by the bottle I would buy it.
At just £7.50, this burger is a great buy in my book. Would order again.
What about the pizza?
If pizza is your thing, the Foodie Food’s Neapolitan-style pizzas will not let you down. The Vegan Foodie included peppers, red onion, black olives and mushrooms, served up on a hand-stretched dough. Delicious, Italian-style pizzas are always a winner in my book and these are up there with some of the best takeaway pizzas I’ve had in a long time. At just £10.50, it’s a steal.
We also gave the veggie Margherita a go too. The San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte mozzarella made this one really pop with flavour. Perfectly cooked and brimming with flavour, it comes highly recommended.
Sounds great how do I order?
